UCU Board of Directors Appoints Steve Baillargeon as Board Chair

Orono, Maine (February 26, 2025) – The UCU Board of Directors has elected its newest slate of officers including Steve Baillargeon as Board Chair. Baillargeon succeeds Ency Whitehill as she steps down as Chair to fulfill the remainder of her term as a Director. UCU would like to recognize Whitehill’s 29 years of service. We thank her for her commitment to UCU and its members, spanning decades and seeing considerable growth in her tenure; membership growth from 11,000 to 31,000; and $56M in assets to now $508M in assets.

Baillargeon has served on the UCU board since 2022, first as an advisor and most recently as a director from 2023 on. He has extensive management experience in the financial services industry, including as a past credit union president/CEO for nearly 20 years. He currently works as an executive in a financial services firm providing executive benefits to organizations. He resides in Otis, Maine.
